They represent conflicts, relational fallouts, and even harm to me and that I’ve inflicted. So there’s pain and sorrow in the books. They are necessary losses.
I can share this feeling with you. I've recently downsized my library of Christian books collected over the past 55 years or so, and while many of the books are ones I'd never read again anyway, some were hard to let go of, and yet how could I in good conscience keep them in place next books that are affirming or gentle or simply not provoking/promoting a white western male viewpoint?
And now I'm looking at the music that I've collected, and it's harder, because while the water now is bitter, I still remember the sweetness. And I long for a new source for that sweetness.
