This is also a good word for the congregations to understand that their pastor is (or pastors are) not the 24x7 oncall spiritual hotline/helpline. Pastors need to be able to have a life that exists apart from their identity-as-the-one-person-to-call-for-help.
We can't treat our spiritual directors and leaders as if they have no "off" switch or that they can never get away from the congregation to do something else like read or paint or run or just goof off. We want our pastors to be fully formed as humans but then don't give them permission to live and grow to become fully formed.
Good word, brother Jonny.
